Fox 13 - The Aftermath

Written by Manic Velocity, April 28th, 2007

The jam has come and gone, and it was great! We had a great turnout (most likely due to the big expensive news camera ). There was a two-hour run around the campus, followed by some stellar interviews, with some tutorials for rolls and kong vaults filmed at the end. Some folks arrived a little late, but you have to try really hard to not find the group.

The news crew were very enthusiastic, which was good to see. The cameraman got really into it, becoming the director and telling everyone where to run and what to do. At any given point I think we had four or five people taking pictures while the film camera was rolling. There were even a few families walking around that stopped to watch us. It’s really cool to hear little kids say “Whoa!” so many times.

I’m currently waiting for an air date for the piece, but I’m told it will run some time within the next two weeks. Once I have a more definite time frame I’ll make the announcement here.

Thanks to everyone who made the effort to show up, especially the new folks who have never been to one of our jams before. And many thanks to Fox 13 for taking such an interest that they’d take two hours out of a beautiful Saturday to watch us jump around like monkeys. We all had a great time!
