SLCPK.org Parkour & Class Recruitment Fliers
Written by deCon, March 29th, 2008
I’m swamped and maybe I’ll get around to it after the semester is done, but here is another opportunity for everyone to get involved. Here’s what I’m looking for:
A flier with the intent to spark interest in Parkour. Specifically, something that describes Parkour/Free Running and shows a photo or two of what it is, along with a thorough description of the general way to contact us, and get involved (Join SLCPK.org). Further, the description should cover the basics — Safety as a #1 Priority, a learning environment that welcomes all Age/Sex/Cultural divisions, and anything else you find to be important to the PK community.
Another suggestion I would make is emphasizing the possibility for classes. I would like this to be an introductory recruitment, and most importantly, an opportunity to start teaching public classes this summer. Leave space for a date/location — as this is only a preliminary idea, and has yet to be discussed with other community leaders.
The main goal is to not only notify those that already know about parkour, of a place to go in order to train and learn with others, but to give those who have yet to learn about Parkour, the opportunity, as well as a nice public display of what it really is, to bring light to even those who may not have interest, so that we can generate a positive spin on Parkour.
Thank you very much!

Fox News Requests Interviews
Written by Manic Velocity, April 22nd, 2007![]()
The local Fox News affiliate is planning to do a story on Utah’s parkour community. We’ve arranged a jam for Saturday, April 28th at 10 AM. We’ll meet in the parking lot of the Ray Olpin Student Union building at the University of Utah.
Discussions for this jam are taking place here: http://slcpk.org/forums/showthread.php?t=302
Please arrive early. We don’t want to waste any time. Come with a good attitude, and with the goal in mind of representing parkour the way it is meant to be represented. You will be on film, and you may be asked to be interviewed.
